Tech Tutors Summer Events

Tech Tutors will continue to offer free drop-in technology help at the Salmon Arm Library on Wednesdays from 1:00–4:00 pm and Fridays from 10:00 am–1:00 pm.

Monthly tech workshops will also continue through the summer. All workshops are held from 10:30–11:30 am in the Small Meeting Room at the Salmon Arm Library.

Upcoming workshops:
June 8: Libby Basics: eBooks & Audiobooks
Learn how to borrow, return, and download library eBooks and audiobooks using the Libby app.

July 13: AI Assistants Overview
An introduction to ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Meta AI, and Apple Intelligence, including what each one is, how to access them, which devices support them, and how to try simple basic actions.

August 10: Messaging Basics
An overview of messaging options, including text/SMS, iMessage, Android Messages, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and others. Learn what each app does, how to access them, and how they work at a basic level.

Community Events: Tech Tutors will also be attending several community events in June to share information about LASS programs, including adult digital literacy supports:

June 15: Laugh & Learn: A Community Connection Fair, 2:00–4:00 pm at First United Church, Village Hall entrance off 5th Street. This free drop-in event is for older adults and community members, with a focus on connection, awareness, and access to local supports.

June 16: 4th Annual Shuswap CRN Summer Picnic, 10:00 am–2:00 pm at Sorrento Retreat and Conference Centre, 1159 Passchendaele Road, Sorrento. Registration is required.

June 22: North Shuswap Lifestyle Fair for Seniors
11:00 am–2:00 pm at Rose Clifford Park, 4170 Butters Road, Scotch Creek. This free event will feature services, resources, information, and activities for seniors, families, and caregivers.
