Cyber Seniors is a free one-on-one tutoring program with sessions geared towards seniors who have never used computers before or who have only a basic knowledge of computers. Each learner is partnered with a community volunteer tutor and together they work on basic skills such as using a mouse, saving files, searching the Internet, and setting up an email account.
In the fall of 2013, LASS launched the first Cyber Seniors Computer Tutoring Centre at the Seniors’ Drop-in Centre in downtown Salmon Arm and we have been pleased to see the program grow and evolve over the years. We currently offer computer tutoring in Blind Bay, Enderby and Sicamous with programs taking place in local seniors centre’s or community library branches.
”[I] felt very comfortable in learning and I’d recommend this program to anyone learning a computer. Thank you so much for this opportunity.”
