Spelling Bee Teams — Bee-Fore the Bee Fundraising is Open!
As we prepare for the 10th Annual LASS Spelling Bee on May 6, we’re introducing something new this year: optional team fundraising through an online platform called Raisely.
Teams can start fundraising anytime between now and the event, so we’re sharing the details now so you can jump in whenever it works for you.
The team that raises the most funds (online and offline combined) will receive:
✨ One free word of their choice during the Spelling Bee ✨
If you plan to fundraise online, your team name is how people will find you on Raisely. Many teams reuse the same name each year, while others change it up. Either is fine, but having a name early helps supporters locate your team page.
If you’d like help brainstorming a name, we’re happy to help!
Option 1: Online fundraising (Raisely)
Once your team captain registers your team, they will receive a link to the team’s Raisely fundraising page. From there, they can add team members and the whole team can work together to fundraise! Even if only a few team members are interested in participating in “Bee-Fore the Bee” fundraising, everything counts towards the team total!
Raisely tracks everything automatically so you can watch your total grow.
Option 2: Collect pledges offline
If online fundraising isn’t your thing, you can also collect donations using the attached printable pledge form.
This works well for:
- workplaces
- community groups
- friends or family who prefer cash or cheques
Offline donations must be reported by: Friday, May 2 at 12:00 pm
Donations received after that will still support LASS but may not count toward the fundraising prize.
Not registered yet? That’s okay — there’s still time to sign up your team! Registration will be open until April 1st.
If your team plans to participate but hasn’t registered yet, we encourage you to secure your spot soon, even if you’re still confirming team members.
Thank you for your continued support!
All funds raised through the Spelling Bee support LASS literacy programs for all ages across the North Okanagan Shuswap.
We’re so grateful for your support and can’t wait to see everyone on May 6th!
Register Your Team Here before April 1st.
If you have questions or need help setting up your fundraising page, please feel free to reach out.
