Throughout the month of January, a GM vehicle will be in the Salmon Arm GM showroom, and the challenge is for community members, businesses, organizations, and schools to donate gently used children’s books and “jam” them in the back of the GM truck.
During Family Literacy Week (January 24 to 31) a GM vehicle will also be parked in the Piccadilly Mall by the library. Community members will be encouraged to make their children’s book donations at either the dealership or Piccadilly Mall.
Drop-Off Locations:
- Salmon Arm GM (month of January)
- Piccadilly Mall (January 24 to 31)
- Salmon Arm Silverbacks Game (January 17)
- Sicamous Eagles Game (January 30)
At the end of the week, all of the books will be collected, sorted, and then later distributed to local children’s organizations to be given to children in our community to take home. The Literacy Alliance of the Shuswap Society (LASS) has partnered with Salmon Arm GM, the Mall at Piccadilly, the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, and the Sicamous Eagles to help promote the “Jam the GM” Children’s Book Drive.
